Bacon, cheese, and ranch make these little burgers juicy and delicious!

When football season arrives it’s really all about the food in our house. We keep the TV on for the games, but the real focus is what’s on the grill and the snacks coming out of the kitchen. If the food is good, any game is worth watching.

From early fall through the Super Bowl, Sundays mean grilling, baking, and feeding the whole family. While the kids scatter to their own activities, I usually end up in the kitchen prepping desserts or arranging the slider toppings. My husband handles the grill—he has a knack for getting charcoal hot and ready—while I mix the beef and seasonings.

Kingsford Charcoal

We prefer to grill while the weather’s still pleasant. Using quality charcoal helps the coals stay hot longer so you get consistent heat for cooking multiple batches of sliders. Once the coals settle to a steady heat, it’s time to place the patties on the grates and let them sear.

Walmart beef preparation

For these sliders I choose a lean ground beef blend and add the bold flavors: ranch seasoning, shredded cheddar, and crisp bacon. A 2.25 lb. package yields around 15 sliders, but you can adjust the patties’ size to suit your guests. Remember the patties will shrink slightly as they cook.

Cook the patties over hot coals for just a few minutes per side so they stay juicy. Overcooking will dry them out. Add a slice of cheddar or a sprinkle of shredded cheese toward the end so it melts over the patty, and consider a smear of pub cheese on the bun for an extra creamy layer.

Serve each slider on a small bun with crisp lettuce, a thin slice of tomato, and a tiny dill pickle on a toothpick for classic presentation. The combination of bacon, cheddar, and ranch seasoning gives every bite a savory, familiar flavor that appeals to both kids and adults.

Mini burgers made with cheddar, ranch, and bacon are perfect for grill outs or tailgating.

A “build-your-own-slider” station is a fun way to serve these at a casual gathering. Lay out buns, patties, lettuce, tomato, pickles, pub cheese, and any other favorite toppings so guests can customize. Kids especially enjoy assembling their own sliders and being part of the meal prep.

My husband suggested adding pub cheese to complement the cheddar inside the patties, and that turned out to be a great tip. The extra layer of cheese adds creaminess and a rich flavor that takes these sliders to the next level.

Cheese, bacon, and ranch added to beef makes the perfect mini slider for tailgating or grilling out parties.

These sliders are simple to prepare, grill quickly, and are perfectly portioned for parties. Whether you’re tailgating, hosting a casual backyard get-together, or just feeding a hungry family during the game, Cheddar Bacon Ranch Sliders are an easy, delicious choice.
